Development of Measuring Device for Diameter at Breast Height of Trees

Diameter at breast height (DBH) is the main metric for standing tree growth measurements. Developing fast and efficient measurement devices measuring DBH of great values in forest resource surveys. In this paper, we propose a new diameter instrument developed using self-reset displacement sensor, which equipped with Personal Computer (PC) terminal to enable measurement, transmission, storage, analysis diameters one. The measurements showed an overall bias 1.44% accuracy 97.35% compared caliper, conventional instrument. was ?0.52% tape, 98.43%. Compared devices, proposed device small easy carry, efficiency significantly improved, data can be directly derived analysis. related electronic instruments, has advantages volume, operation, large range, wider applicability.
